Kids Optometry screening

Your child will soon be rewarded for completing their optometry screening in the new Vitality Active Rewards programme for Kids.

You can claim the cost for this screening from your Discovery Health plan should you have funds available.

What you

NEED TO KNOW

  • At Vitality, we believe prevention is better than cure. The United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends vision screening at least once for all children between the ages of three and five years. This is to detect the presence of amblyopia (lazy eye) or its risk factors.

  • Studies have shown that early detection and intervention is essential in correcting visual problems like lazy eye. This is why we encourage you to take your children for an optometry screening during this age range.

  • You can take your child for an optometry screening any time between the ages of three and five.
